YOUTH PASTOR

Youth Pastor Job Description

 

Salary: $45,000 or depending on experience
Benefits: PTO, Health Insurance, Professional Development

 

Requirement: B.A. from a post-secondary Christian institution or certification recognized by the Hmong
District or C&MA, such as TEE, MSP. 1-3 years of experience as an Assistant Pastor or Youth Pastor
preferred but not required. Recent graduate is encouraging to apply. The candidate is able to
communicate in English but knowing how to speak Hmong is a plus.


Primary responsibility: The Youth Pastor is to have a shepherd's heart (1 Peter 5:1-4), live a biblical
elder's life (1 Timothy 3 & Titus 1), and work for the building up of the body of Christ (Eph. 4:11-16) by
cultivating a culture and practice of care and compassion throughout the St. Paul Hmong Alliance
Church’s community.


Examples of responsibilities:

  • Teaching and Preaching

  • Spiritual counselling

  • Leadership training

  • Home visitations

  • Building relationships and connecting with Youth members

  • Participates and assist with ministries set by Hmong District and SPHAC

  • Report to and follow directives as set forth by the Lead Pastor


Other responsibilities (per assignment from Lead Pastor):

  • Preaching and overall assisting during member funerals.

  • Assisting with member wedding events.

  • Preaching during special events such as parties and holiday celebrations (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year, etc.)  as assigned.

  • Recruiting, training, and encouraging leaders and volunteers to help with the ministries.

  • Gathering and developing resources to successfully complete ministry goals.

Being a pastor is a deeply honorable yet humbling calling that demands both dedication and compassion.

While the pastor’s primary duties include spiritual guidance, preaching, and shepherding the

congregation, this role requires flexibility and a willingness to meet the evolving needs of the church

community. The pastor’s responsibilities extend beyond this description, as they will be called upon to

serve wherever their leadership, wisdom, and care are needed.​
