Saint Paul Hmong Alliance Church is pleased to announce internal faith-based scholarships:

 

  1. Yia Endowment

  2. Tsaav Vwj Xyooj Scholarship

The Yia Endowment 

The Yia Endowment was established by an elderly church member who has a heart to support university students pursuing Christian studies, especially for those who are seeking to become pastors.  The scholarship will assist university students pursuing Christian studies with doctrines similar to the Christian & Missionary Alliance (C&MA), or similar faiths. Applicants who qualify will receive a scholarship award that can be used towards tuition and/or living expenses (textbooks, food, and/or household items).

Tsaav Vwj Xyooj Scholarship

Tsaav Vwj Xyooj Scholarship was established by a long-time church member who wishes to support church groups or individuals who have a heart for doing missions or ministry work overseas but are in need of some financial support.  Applicants who qualify will receive a one-time scholarship award that can be used towards transportation, lodging, and/or basic needs while on duty.

The Yia Endowment

Yia Endowment Scholarship Qualifications

  • Must be a university student pursuing Christian studies at an accredited university in the U.S. or overseas

 

To apply, please email the following documents to scholarships@sphac.org

  • Letter of interest that includes a short bio, your Christian studies, why you’ve applied for the Yia Endowment Scholarship, and your photo

  • Current semester class schedule

  • Official transcript

  • For international applicants: a reference letter from a professor, pastor, local official

 

Qualifying applicants will be awarded as follows:

  • 1st time recipient:

    • $700 for one semester for tuition + living expenses 

    • or 

    • ​​$300 for one semester for tuition only

  • 2nd time and onwards recipient:

    • $400/semester for tuition + living expenses​​ 

    • or

    • $300 for one semester towards tuition only

​

Applicants can apply for the Yia Endowment Scholarship only once per semester but can be awarded multiple times (i.e., applicant applies for the first time in spring 2026 semester and is awarded $700, applicant can apply again for fall 2026 semester and can be awarded $400.)

 

Timeline: Please allow up to 4 weeks to process application and receive scholarship funds so please plan accordingly.

Tsaav Vwj Xyooj Scholarship

​The Tsaav Vwj Xyooj Scholarship Qualifications 

  • church groups or individuals doing missions or ministry work overseas

  • funds must be used towards transportation, lodging, and/or basic needs while on duty

Scholarship funds awarded will vary for qualifying participants. Participants can only be awarded once per missions or ministry project.

 

Timeline: Please allow up to 4 weeks to process application and receive scholarship funds so please plan accordingly.
